Football Playoffs – Round One Begins

The football team ended their regular season 6-1 with a tough loss to Shrewsbury loosing 35-7. Although the boys lost, they still maintained their place as as number 1 seed in D4.   The first playoff game will be on Friday, November 3rd at 7pm at Nashoba Regional against  No. 4 Westboro.

The team played Westboro earlier in the season beating them 34-14, with great performances by Kyle Hume, Breese Hill and Max Parrow scoring many points that game. Nashoba won their league this year and has been to playoffs numerous times in recent years giving them a good advantage over Westboro.  Although they are typically a good team, Westboro recently  stepped up their game and beat Wachusett, who Nashoba only beat 9-0. Westboro is coming into this game hot.

Friday’s game will see a motivated Nashoba team ready to win as last week was not their best performance. The team is going to look for Kyle Hume, Sam Bowlinsky, Breese Hill and their defense to step up their performances. Breese Hill, a captain and wide receiver for Nashoba states,  “Of course I think we’ll go far. I am very confident in this year’s team, the players and coaching staff. This team[ is closer] than last years”. The football team has not lost a home game yet this season.

The team did not make playoffs last year for the first time in a while, making them really motivated this year. Sam Bolinsky, the quarter back on the team, stated, ” Going into the playoffs we look great as a team, the team chemistry is great and everyone seems to be coming together. If everyone does their job and sticks together through everything, the skies the limit for the Chieftains”. Reporter, Matt Feld commented that this year’s title for CMASS D4 football “is Nashoba.  Do not sleep on this Nashoba team, if those boys are on they will dominate.” The team is hoping for a big turnout. If past games are any indication, this one will be well attended too! Come out and catch a great game this Friday at 7.
