Recap: Chieftain Girl’s Indoor Track at Districts

This Thursday, February 16, the Nashoba Girl’s Indoor Track Team shipped off to the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston for the District Division 4 meet. Fifteen girls from Nashoba were sent to compete with some of the best athletes in the state.

 

Results Include:

1,000m (27 athletes total): Alex Bettez (4th) Ella Lemieux (16th)

2 mile (29 athletes total): Emily Vivanco (16th)

4x200m relay (25 teams total): Ashlyn MacLure/Carli Donovan/Makaisha Gonzalez/Erin McNemar (18th)

4x400m relay (24 teams total): Kara Mannion/Jordan Bricknell/Halle Hangen/Carli Tesini (19th)

4x800m relay (21 teams total): Emily Vivanco/Allie Kovacs/Ella Lemieux/Alex Bettez (6th)

55m hurdles prelims (32 total): Makaisha Gonzalez (10th), Jordan Bricknell (20th)

55m dash prelims (22 total): Ashlyn MacLure (21st)

High Jump (14 total): Erin McNemar (3rd), Chloe Dewhurst (10th)

 

The girl’s 4x800m relay team broke the school’s record with an impressive time of 10:11.47. Erin McNemar matched her own school high jump record of 5′ 2″, while Alex Bettez broke her own school record in the 1,000m race with a time of 3:02.54. This meet locked places at All-States, set to occur on February 26th, for Erin McNemar, a senior, and Alex Bettez, a sophomore.
