Unified Basketball Team Gets Ready for an Exciting Season

Nashoba Unified Basketball is off to a great start with a win over Shrewsbury on Wednesday, October 16th. The team is led by Coach Beth Mcnamara and assistant coach Mike Hambleton. The players have been busy learning new drills and creating new friendships both on and off the court. While talking about the season so far, Coach Mcnamara said, “coaching Unified Basketball has been a great experience. The atmosphere is tremendous, everyone is working hard and having fun.” Coach Mac has been coaching for many years now, starting at Westford Academy, and working her way to Nashoba.

Athlete, Sydney Meininger, feels that “the team is looking really good. Everyone works together and tries their hardest everyday at practice.” The strong group is projected to be very successful this year with many strong athletes. Jillian Payne said, “the team is looking great. Everyone is super happy to be playing and to be apart of it.”

The team had a lot of fun against their first opponent and will take on Algonquin High School on Halloween at Nashoba at 3:30. Sydney is hoping everyone will “come to the Unified Basketball game home opener on Halloween and pack the gym! Theme for the game is Halloween costumes.” Come out for a spooktacular time!!
