Nashoba Football On a Roll

While the team may be different, the football teams record is starting off the same as last year with two wins under their belt, and no losses. Nashoba played Grafton on Saturday, September 14 to start the season. Nashoba won with a score of 33 to 16. On Friday, September 20, Nashoba played Marlboro, winning with a score of 35 to 14. The team is set to play Leominster this Saturday at home at 2:30.

Jamie Tucker, head coach of the football team says, “We have gotten off to a good start for sure. Two division wins is always a good start.” The team last year was very successful, later ending the season with a state championship vs. Dighton Rehoboth in a one sided scoring game.

Captain Aidan Lee explains how this year is different from last: “Last year there were so many seniors to look up to and this year there is a smaller number of seniors which makes us closer. But the difference in people we are missing has really changed the look on our game plan.” Aidan is joined by captains Nick Romasco, Jack Bonnazoli, Joe Flannery, and Jack Cahill.

Come support the team this Saturday as they take on Leominster in a game dedicated to Ken Tucker, former head coach of Nashoba for 24 years, Bolton educator, and former student of Leominster High School. Bring donations to go towards Ken Tucker’s scholarship fund. The team hopes to see you Saturday, roll tribe!
