In April of 2020, Nashoba students and teachers will be traveling to Italy on a trip sponsored by EF Tours. The trip includes visits to Venice, Florence, and Rome, where students will be immersed in Italian history, culture, and food.

The trip to Italy is being run by Mr. Denson and Ms. Polymeros, who are both new to Nashoba’s travels with EF Tours. As in past years, this trip is being run over April break of the 2019-2020 school year. This trip is one of the most highly rated by students and teachers alike, so it makes for a perfect trip for students looking to travel.

The Chieftain Press interviewed Ms. Polymeros, who is eager to chaperone her first trip with EF. “I’ve been really interested in traveling, and I haven’t had many opportunities to travel too much, so I was really excited to have the opportunity to go on a trip with the school,” explained Ms. Polymeros. “Out of the places we’re visiting, I’m probably looking forward to Venice the most. We’re going to be riding in the gondolas, so I’m really excited for that part of the trip.”

The group of students and teachers going on the trip to Italy will be able to engage in once-in-a-lifetime experiences. In Venice, the group will visit St. Mark’s square and the Doge’s Palace, as well as tour the Grand Canal. They will also get to visit iconic sights in Florence, Assisi, and Pompeii, such as the Gates of Paradise, the Basilica of St. Francis, and the ruins of Pompeii. The group will then spend several days in Rome, where they will see the Colosseum, Vatican City, the Sistine Chapel, St. Peter’s Basilica, and many more.

Another staple of Italy that attracts visitors from all over the world is the cooking. “I think I’m looking forward to the Italian food the most, since that’s my favorite type of food,” expressed Ms. Polymeros. “I’m looking forward to having lots of pasta and gelato – it’s going to be awesome.” The Nashoba group going on the trip will have the opportunity to indulge in all sorts of Italian meals, from pastas to pizzas to desserts. Not only is Italy a country full of beautiful sights and history, but it also has one of the most popular cuisines in the world.
