Scrooge Comes to Nashoba

With the holidays just around the corner, it’s the perfect time for Nashoba’s showcase of the classic play, A Christmas Carol. The show will be held on November 16th at 7:30 pm, Saturday November 17th at 7:30 pm, and on Sunday November 18th at 2:00 pm.

A Christmas Carol is set in the 1800’s during Christmas. The show features characters such as cold-hearted Ebenezer Scrooge, played by Nolan Stocker, his overworked employee, Bob Cratchit, played by Beckett Storey, and the rest of the Cratchit family. Scrooge is also payed a visit from the Ghost of Christmas Past (Spencer Weijer), Present (Sophia Mellis), and Future (Line Truelsen), as well as, the ghost of his former friend and coworker, Jacob Marley, played by Jonas Weijer. Scrooge is visited by Jacob Marley who tells Scrooge he is going to be brought through his past, present, and future to show why and how he should change the way he treats people.

The actors have been working really hard for months every Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday at rehearsals, with spectacular results.

Not only is this group amazingly talented, but they treat each other as family. Jonas Weijer stated, “My favorite part about drama is that there are a lot of people. We all come together for a common cause and we all work together to make the production amazing.”

Backstage crew is also going to have their hands full since they are also going to be featured as townspeople in the play. They are going to be dressed up in time period appropriate attire, just like the rest of the cast, and become part of the scenes; which is the first time Nashoba theater has attempted this type of set movement.
