With Thanksgiving just around the corner, it’s the best time to be thankful for and build upon the community here at Nashoba. Students will get to participate in Nashoba’s second Wolf Day on Tuesday, November 26th after lunch; a great opportunity to feed into this mindset.
Wolf Day will happen after a brief C period to secure our belongings in the building. We will get to participate in 3 different activity blocks, each one 25 minutes long. Students should have signed up for their chosen activities through MyFlexLearning on the 14th. Some of the exciting options available to students for the first two blocks include basketball, karaoke, Just Dance, backyard games, and Charlie Brown Movie watching.
Everyone’s favorite option for blocks 1 and 2 is the Powerpuff Football tournament. Each grade will compete in flag football with a team of 25 girls. It costs $10 to sign up, and each player will receive a team T-shirt. Girls can sign up to play for their grade during lunch from November 18th through the 22nd, and boys can volunteer to be cheerleaders through the link in the Student Council Instagram bio. The first activity block will be freshman vs. juniors and sophomores vs. seniors, and then the second activity block will be the Powerpuff championship game. The concession stand will be open and the band will also be in attendance to bring up the energy. Anyone who isn’t playing or coaching can sign up to grab a snack and pack the stands during these activity blocks.
Activity block 3 will have more limited options, but there are new exciting things to participate in during that time. There will be a relay race of students in inflatable costumes competing for their grade. Most talked about among the student body now is “pie a teacher for charity.” Students can buy 2 tickets for $1 or 5 tickets for $10 and choose the teacher they want to pie. The tickets will go in a jar, and if your name gets pulled, you get to pie your teacher!! The teachers we can choose from are Mrs. Foley, Mr. Melbourne, Mrs. Cowell, Mr. Walker, Mrs. Bradley, and Mr. Biggs. The money from ticket sales will be used to purchase food items to donate to Clinton Food Pantry.
We are competing with Clinton in a food drive and all proceeds which will go to Clinton Food Pantry. All food must be donated by November 25th so it can be weighed, and the school who donates more food wins! This will be announced during the Thanksgiving football game. All unexpired and nonperishable food items are welcome; examples include pasta, cake mix, peanut butter, and canned meals. Toiletries and toilet paper are also requested. You can place your items in the boxes in the lobby. Make sure to donate so we can beat Clinton!!
While you’re getting excited for these events, make sure to buy your tickets for the Powerpuff and for pieing your teachers. Get excited for Wolf Day!! We cannot wait to have a fun, community-oriented afternoon.
