Chieftain Varsity Lacrosse vs. Leominster Blue Devils

The Chieftains took home the win on Tuesday, May 1st against the Leominster Blue Devils with the score of 11-8. The Chieftains now have a record of 5 wins and 4 losses.

The first quarter did not go in the Chieftain’s favor on Tuesday, as the ball was in Leominster’s control for a majority of the period. There were great defensive plays by number 25, sophomore, Jack Bonazzoli, but the defensive efforts weren’t enough. The quarter ended with Leominster up 2-0. The second quarter started off with a goal from number 1, Bryce Chaput from right in front of the net. Sadly, that goal was followed minutes later by a third goal from the Blue Devils. Number 3, Junior Evan Doig received a pass from the face off, and was able to run through the deference and put another point on the board for the Chieftains.

Doig played a great game today contributing heavily to keeping his team on top. He participated in multiple great plays throughout the night. Chaput also had a great game scoring another hat trick this season. When asked how it felt to get another hat trick he told the Chieftain Press ” it felt good, but at the end of the day a win is what we wanted”. He also talked about how it felt after their loss on Monday ” it feels really good, we really showed what type of team we are tonight. We put the loss behind us and focused on our goal today”.

Check out the team at their game tonight – They are will take on Sheppard Hill at 4 pm on Friday, May 4th at home.
