Spring Sports Tryouts Coming Near

As winter sports are finishing off their last games at Nashoba, they start to look to the new season of spring sports. On Monday, March 21st, tryouts will begin and continue throughout the week. The sports for this spring are Girls, Boys, and Unified Track and Field, Girls and Boys Tennis, Girls and Boys Lacrosse, Baseball, and Softball. Nashoba has many talented athletes and the records prove so. Athletics is a big part of school life at Nashoba.

Girls Tennis Team Coach, Steve Winer, is prepping for a new season. Last year, the team was ranked the top in the division and fell just short of the MIAA State Championship, by coming in second by 2-3. Junior Captain last year, Jillian Winer, took home the state title and is now one of the two senior captains of the team. This year, coach Steve Winer is hopeful.

“Ultimately the idea is to have fun and teach the game of tennis. I hope this year we can get a state title, but a solid team is a great start.”

Freshman Carli Tesini who will be doing Track and Field is also looking forward to the spring season.

“I did winter track, but I’m really excited to be on the regular team this year and compete. I am going to do the 300 meter and hopefully I will get to districts.”

The Track and Field team at Nashoba has also been very successful, with state titles earned by many of the individual athletes that are still on the team and on the hunt for more. With winter and spring track available to students it gives all the runners a chance to really be on their game for the whole season and stay there.

Nashoba has had a very successful year, so they are excited to see what they have this spring and hope they have the same luck.
Good Luck to all Nashoba athletes.
