Finding the Best Spinach and Artichoke Dip

My Official Ranking of Every Restaurant’s Spinach and Artichoke Dip

Finding+the+Best+Spinach+and+Artichoke+Dip

Spinach and artichoke dip is the appetizer that is sweeping the nation with a cheesy sensation. Almost every restaurant has this under their appetizer menu. While it has a main base of cream cheese, sour cream, spinach, artichoke, and cheese, there are many different ways that a restaurant can change it up. From what it’s served with to a burnt cheese top, a lot of factors can change the experience of spinach and artichoke dip.

I have been all over to many restaurants, ordering spinach and artichoke dip at every single one, and I can tell you that there is dip you skip, and dip that hits. The most important factors in the ranking of dips are: What is it served in? What is it topped with? How is the texture? Too chunky? Too soupy? These are the questions I will be answering today so that you can know where to find the best spinach and artichoke dip.

8.) T.G.I. Friday’s

At the bottom of the list, T.G.I. Friday’s really disappointed me. I have been going there for their warm bread sticks and was pleasantly delighted by them. So when I saw that they had spinach and artichoke dip, I was excited and had high hopes. Unfortunately, Friday’s dropped the bar. I can definitely say that this is the only dip that I did not completely finish. While they passed my burnt cheese top test, they filled the dip with too much cheddar cheese that gave off a sweet taste I did not expect. Paired with their subpar tortilla chips, Friday’s gave us nothing to care about.

7.) Olive Garden

Despite their ongoing popularity, Olive Garden’s spinach and artichoke dip was just average. I expected more from the huge franchise. While having a burnt cheese top isn’t necessary, it leaves the Olive Garden dip unmemorable. Their pieces of artichoke are too big and force me to try and avoid them and ruin the texture and experience while eating. I will applaud them for their use of fried crunchy bread chips, however, I expected better from Olive Garden.

6.) Applebee’s

Applebee’s spinach dip is a completely different experience whether you order it for take out or in the store. I am a frequent customer of doordash and this still shouldn’t stop me from getting my spinach dip, but Applebee’s seems to have other plans. While I love the Applebee’s dip in store, the online ordered dip is bland. The dip in store has the burnt cheese top with a consistent texture, while the online ordered dip is flavorless with large pieces of artichoke that make it chunky. It’s almost like I am getting two different dips from the same place.

5.) Yard House

While Yard House has many locations nearby, I was lucky enough to visit their location in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania. Their spinach and artichoke dip was a very refreshing experience. The texture was just right with no unnecessary chunky pieces that ruin the experience. It was definitely one of the most flavorful dip I have had. I would love to visit Yard House and have their dip again.

4.) Houlihan’s

While there are not many locations in the area, I encourage you to stop by if you have the chance. Not only was the dip delightful, but you have the option to get cheesy lavosh crackers. These really elevated the experience. The dip itself was very similar to the Yard House dip with lots of flavor and a good texture. I would love to be able to try this dip again.

3.) The Cheesecake Factory

The Cheesecake Factory is always a lovely place to visit when you want some good food. Their spinach and artichoke dip was no different. While a bit on the pricey side, when you’re looking to treat yourself, this is the place to go. This is definitely the most flavorful and cheesy dip that you can find. With a side of hot tortilla chips, they also serve it with salsa and sour cream that really pulls the experience together. I hope that everyone who reads this has a chance to try it.

2.) Clinton’s Bar & Grille

Clinton’s Bar & Grille has some incredible food and their spinach dip is definitely one of them. The dip is perfectly creamy and flavorful with delicious spinach and artichoke that didn’t overpower the dip. Along with their other tasty dishes, the spinach and artichoke dip is one that you cannot miss.

1.) 110 Grill

While I love all spinach and artichoke dip, this one will never be beat until other restaurants take some tips. 110 Grill serves their dip in a sourdough baked bread bowl and gives you the top so that you can dip with the bread bowl. This alone puts it at the top of my list because it is so much better with freshly baked bread than with the tortilla chips. If you are also a spinach and artichoke dip connoisseur like myself, then I also recommend that when the dip is nearly finished, that you eat the entire bowl as well. I look forward to every dinner here just for the spinach dip. Nothing will complete with 110 Grill until others implement the bread bowl.
