From Mr. Scrooge to Mr. Banks- What’s next for Nashoba Theatre

Before Thanksgiving break Nashoba Drama put on, A Christmas Carol. This production put the audience in the holiday mood and left everyone feeling thankful for family and friends. All three performances brought in a steady crowd with the Saturday performance being the most popular of the three shows.

Lauren Thier has done both the play and the musical since freshman year and was very excited to be a part of this holiday classic. In A Christmas Carol, Lauren played Mrs. Cratchit as well as being a caroler. One standout of Nashoba Drama is that “everyone in it is so supportive,” says Thier. Assistant Stage Manager, Brittney Yuen, agrees: “For my first year back stage, everyone was really welcoming. It was a great experience.”

The much anticipated musical this year is Mary Poppins. “I am soooo excited,” says Thier. “I’m going to audition for Mary Poppins, but any role would be an amazing part because there are so many huge numbers.” Mary Poppins is expected to be an upbeat exciting musical with lots of female characters that highlights the ensemble, especially the talented dancers from “tap to jazz and some slow numbers that make you fall in love with each and every character!” The audition dates are December 9th and 10th in the auditorium but the times are not yet confirmed.

If you can’t wait until March, Mary Poppins Returns, starring Emily Blunt, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Dick Van Dyke, hits theaters December 19th! Both shows are sure to be supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!!!
