Jamie Allman, a conservative talk show host of Sinclair Broadcast Group in St. Louis Missouri, has lost his job after threatening sexual assault on David Hogg, a Parkland student victim.

On March 26, Allman tweeted about Hogg stating: “When we kick their ass they all like to claim we’re drunk. I’ve been hanging out getting ready to ram a hot poker up David Hogg’s ass tomorrow. Busy working. Preparing.”.

The tweet is now deleted, but that didn’t stop advertisers from pulling their ads from the show. Hogg, the 17 year old Parkland survivor, has been frequently attacked by right-wing media. Fox News’, Laura Ingraham, mocked him for not being accepted into some of the colleges he applied to. Her show, “The Ingraham Angle”, also had advertisers pull some ads from the show.

While Ingraham has apologised for her comments, and is back on air, Allaman has yet to apologise for his tweet and has since resigned. In addition to his resignation, Sinclair Broadcast Group has cancelled his nightly show.  Allman also has a morning radio talk show on which the station reported that he is “taking a few days off”.

The boycott of ads from Allman’s shows has been lead by Missouri State Representative, Stacey Newman. “We’ve had people all over Missouri…all over the country weighing in on this … it’s heartwarming to know that tons of people throughout the state understand this is not acceptable. Even though we hadn’t asked for [Allman’s] removal or resignation, [Sinclair] took it upon themselves. People know where the line is”, Newman said. She also explained how Allman has “repeatedly attacked” students of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, and students from schools in the St. Louis area. She called upon advertisers to “stop supporting an adult who spews such hate”.

In addition to the tweet being deleted, Allman’s twitter account is now private and it seems as though he has no intention of apologising.
