Boys Basketball Going To States
The boys basketball team is certainly on a roll and they are not stopping now. These boys have had quite a season – with a record of 21-3 they are moving on the state finals for the first time in our school’s history?? They surprised many and made it through the Clark Tournament and beat a tough Longmeadow team this past Monday – with an impressive score of 68-58, in a Division 2 state semifinal at the DCU Center in Worcester.
As Nashoba fans, the tribe packed the DCU in red, white and blue, having the biggest crowd to support the team. The Chieftain boys had a close first half, but came out strong during the second half, owning the court.
The game was filled with strong performances including, Connor Ojerholm (16 points, 12 rebounds, 3 blocks) , Andrew Fish (16 points), and Justin Pierce and Connor Jesson both with 13 points. The game was an aggressive one, bringing both the Chieftains and the Lancers many fouls, but during the 4th quarter, the Chieftains really dominated the game- with strong ball handling and smooth passing. The Chieftains maintained their lead and brought home the win.
Nashoba will play Brighton (22-5), this Saturday in Springfield. Brighton won’t be an easy opponent. The question remains, will the boys bring home a state championship? Come out and support the team and show your Nashoba pride. Let’s keep up the big turn out and have a huge crowd . Good luck boys bring home another win and keep on making history.
