As the 2024 school year comes to an end, no one can think about anything else except this upcoming summer! If summer is not your favorite season already, there are more than a few reasons why it should be. Whether you’re in a good mood due to sunny days, time off, or other entertaining activities, you truly cannot go wrong with summer being your favorite season.

Personally, summer is my favorite season because of the long break we students get before our next school year. With the school year coming to what feels like an abrupt and hectic end, the sudden time off is perfect timing. It offers people time to relax and make time for themselves. There are no more rushed mornings, or late nights studying for an upcoming test. The alarm clock goes away, and you can sleep in and stay up late. Basically, all stress dissolves which causes people to be happy!
With all the new free time, there is so much you can do! Whether you spend time with family or friends you can’t go wrong with any summer activity. Living in Massachusetts we are lucky to have the beloved Cape Cod only a few hours away. Along with the Cape, we are home to some of the best state beaches. Visiting the beach with friends or family is a fun way to spend a nice warm sunny day and also a great way to beat the heat! Another way to stay cool is the reopening of pools. Lounging and tanning at the pool all day is a great way to relax. It can also be entertaining with all the fun pool games there are. Everyone’s favorite summer treat is finally being served and all local favorite ice creams are re-open. Some of the best local ice cream businesses include Kimballs Farm, Colonial Candies, Micro Creamery, Rotas, the Sterling Ice Cream Bar, and Erickson. All are known to make delicious ice cream!
Although each season has fun activities, summer is the all-time favorite. Long sunny warm summer days allow us to relax. Spending quality time with family and friends makes people feel good. And any outdoor activities create fun for everyone is why summer is the best season!
