The years 2022 and 2023, have been, and will be big years for game releases, so here is a Top 3 list for the most waited for games.

Gotham Knights

Gotham Knights has been a big wait, mainly for the fans of the DC Universe. It will be the first DC game that will focus on sidekicks, well, they are not sidekicks anymore, right?

In this single player, action role-playing, OPEN WORLD, game you will be able to play as, Nightwing, Batgirl, Robin, and Red Hood. Each one of them have their one style, and abilities. For example, Robin can teleport using the Justice League satellite, which can be played solo or a two-player cooperative multiplayer mode, where the second player will be able to drop in and out without affecting the first player. As you level up your characters, your enemies will be leveled up as well, you will also be able to use vehicles, like the Batcycle, in case you want to know Gotham city more.

During the day time you will be at the Belfry, which is the team’s base of operations. While at the Belfry, you will be able to switch characters, and prepare for the next mission. As you leave the Belfry, the time will change to night.

The game was announced in August 2020, and was set to release on October 25, 2022, but in August 2022, it was announced that the release date would be changed to October 21, 2022.

Because of those characteristics this game takes  3rd place on this list. It is still a good place for a possibly amazing game, but it doesn’t beat the other 2. I am not a big fan of DC, so this is one of the reasons it goes in 3rd place. 

This game will be available to play on the following platforms: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Microsoft Windows.

Hogwarts Legacy

For the Harry Potter, and video game fans, this is the perfect game.

Hogwarts LEGACY, will be an open world single-player action RPG. While playing the game, players will be able to attend classes at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. There are classes such as  Charms, Defense Against the Dark Arts, Herbology, and Potions. There will also even be some familiar explorable locations from the Harry Potter series, locations like the Forbidden Forest, Diagon Alley, and Hogsmeade Village. There are some other areas that are yet unseen. Those areas include the Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff common rooms. While playing  the game, you will be able to see the interior and exterior areas of the castle to change visually to match the events happening in the game.

You will be able to choose your character’s appearance, such as body type, gender, and voice, and you will also be able to choose their house (Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff).

While you level up, you will be able to access and upgrade different spells, talents, and abilities, as well as be able to modify the Room of Requirements, so you will be able to customize environmental elements.

While you play the game, you will learn different magical spells, brew potions, and master a combat style. As you progress through the game, you will be able to develop your own special combat style. You will also be able to acquire combat items.

For those various characteristics of the game, this goes in second place. One of the other reasons for this to be on 2nd is because I am a big fan of the Harry Potter series.

The game was announced on September, 2020, and is set to release on February 10, 2023, and will be available to play on the following platforms: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, and Nintendo Switch.

God of War: Ragnarök

I personally loved the prequel of this game, when I played it back on 2020, and I have been waiting for this one since then. The prequel was just PERFECT. Well, actually, God of War has never disappointed, since its first game back in 2005. This game has been heavily waited for by the God of War fans and it will be the second game, where Kratos (the main character) has a son, Atreus.

The trailer was announced during the PlayStation showcase in 2021.

The game will be set during Ragnarok, an event in Norse Mythology, known as the end of the world. The game will come with some different new items, and maybe even weapons, but those are yet unseen.

The reason this game is in 1st place is because of its legacy. There are 17 years of legacy with God of War, a whole generation. Some people who played the first game when it came out were around my age, and now they are adults- that is unbelievable.

This game is definitely the most waited for game release for 2022-2023.

The game is set to release on November 9, 2022, and it will be available to the following platforms: PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
