Latin for “bull,” the taurus is the second sign of the zodiac. It lies between aries and gemini, lasting from April 20th to May 20th. Of the four elements, taureans are earth signs, making them patient, grounded, loyal, and very stubborn. Taureans stereotypically are fairly materialistic and are often seen as gluttonous or lazy. With their stubbornness comes an intense resilience for taureans, making them hard workers and very loyal. Stubbornness, of course, comes with flaws. Commonly seen in a taurus is a sort of my-way-or-the-highway attitude. The ruling planet of the taurus is Venus (the planet of art, love, and beauty). This takes the taurus’ materialistic approach to life to a different, more level pattern, seeking comfort in nature, the company of loved ones, and general pleasant surroundings.
