Best Buddies Walk 2018
For the second year in a row, Nashoba will be hosting the Best Buddies Friendship Walk on Saturday, October 20th, at 10:00 am. Located at the Bolton Fairgrounds, this fun-packed event will not disappoint.
Those attending the walk can grab a cider donut and some apple cider, dance to some live music, launch pumpkins, and participate in a walk around the grounds. But most importantly, above anything else, no one will leave without having made many new friends.
The goal of the walk is to raise awareness and funds to support inclusion for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Not only will the money go towards the organization, but it will also help to support these individuals after high school and ensure that they get a job or training in a trade. The organization hopes to raise at least $45,000, either with donations online or donating at the walk.
Last year’s Friendship Walk was beyond successful, with a turnout greater than expected. Over $35,000 was raised, and more than 900 walkers attended! Nashoba, out of all of the Central Mass schools that attended, even received the Spirit Award! The plan this year is to not only take home the Spirit Award once again, but also to raise the most money in Central Mass.
Donations can be made online at the Best Buddies Friendship Walk website to the Nashoba team, and donations will also be accepted at the walk. The goal is to raise $45,000, so any donation helps!
So start raising some money, get your Best Buddies attire ready, and we will see you at the walk for the best day ever!
