Nashoba Varsity Hockey Bring Home a Big Win
Navshoba’s boys Varsity hockey team played Hudson this past Wednesday, January 10th. It was a riveting game as Nashoba, going into it, was the underdog. The boys held Hudson at the end of first period to a score of 0-0 as both teams really stepped up their defense. The second period ended with a score of 3-2 as Nashoba pulled ahead.
But it was the end of the game that brought the most excitement and a huge win for the boys in green. The final score of the game was 4-3. Nashoba played hard, did not give up, and got the win. This was a big game for the team, as this is a rebuilding year for them; they had a rocky start to their season so this was an important win for them. The crowd was on the edge of their seats through out the entire game. This was a great turn around from their previous game against North Middlesex on Monday.
Many players were on top of their game and contributed to the win. Junior defenseman, Nicky Streeter, had a great game and got a lot of ice time. Streeter did exceptionally well on defense. Sophomore Kyle Chaput also had a great game, making some impressive plays. He pulled off an important maneuver in the team’s play book that helped them take the win. Senior defenceman, Andrew Kerble, also had an outstanding game by getting an impressive hat trick in the second quarter. Senior, Ryan Leblanc ,scored the winning goal in the final seconds of the game. The team really showed what they could do; their hard work payed off for them in the end.
The boys next game is on Saturday, January 13th against Grafton. The game is at 5:00 pm at the New England Sports Center in Marlborough.
